Andr\u00e1s has built his first website in 1997 learning HTML in 3 days. Ten years later, while starting up his web design business he discovered WordPress and never looked back. He moved to Switzerland in 2009 and started focusing on SMEs, helping them establish and strengthen their online presence through WordPress driven websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is also a proud member of the support team at Modern Tribe \u2013 the team behind the plugin The Events Calendar and co. \u2013 and loves to help people solve their issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is a promoter of focused work, and clean, efficient designs. He likes to work with the Divi theme and in his spare time he is running a blog at divi-magazine.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you start with WordPress ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>
At the time \u2013 around 2008-2009 \u2013 I was a fresh, one-man web design \u201cagency\u201d. I was custom developing the websites with their admin back-ends, which worked quite well. And then somehow, I bumped into WordPress. I immediately threw the self-developed framework into the trash and switched over to WordPress. Never looked back. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Why did you choose this topic ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Currently I work in the customer support team of Modern Tribe, the developers behind The Events Calendar and its add-ons.
When we release a new version of any of our plugins we advise our users in the release blog post to \u201cuse a staging site to test these the changes before updating on a live site.\u201d Despite this very few people do that. I believe partially because they are afraid that it\u2019s too complicated or takes a lot of time. (A couple of years ago I also didn\u2019t have a clue what the heck a staging site is.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


What will your audience learn at the workshop ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>
I hope to show the audience:
\u2022 that there is nothing to be afraid of;
\u2022 that there are several different options to set up a staging site;
\u2022 how easily it can be done with some free tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
