Come and learn a new way to develop WordPress Themes.

Pascal is a software engineer based in Thun and currently doing his bachelor’s degree in computer science. He’s been working with WordPress for over 4 years as a full stack developer. He loves to teach WordPress to new developers and to build fancy and usable websites with (but not only) it. He currently works at WebKinder in Lucerne.

How did you start with WordPress ?

I started working with WordPress 4 years ago. First as an user I helped a company to provide the information on their website. As I was doing my high school degree I tought myself to programm and got a first job at a WordPress Agency in Bern.Now I am working part time as a WordPress Developer at WebKinder in Lucerne and part time doing my bachelor’s degree.

Why did you choose this workshop topic ?

I am using Timber for almost any WordPress project I am working on. It simplifies the development of projects tremendously and makes it much more fun. That’s why I want to share how and why to do it.Furthermore I am newly a core contributor to Timber and looking to talk to people about new features and feelings about Timber as we are currently creating the next big release Timber 2.0.

What will we learn with your workshop?

You will learn what Timber is and how to use it. I will show how to do basic separation of concerns (MVC) approach with WordPress in Themes, how to pass data around and some extended functionality examples of Timber.Come and learn a new way to develop WordPress Themes.
